The ACLT received the amazing news that we have topped the list of nominations by JustGiving to win Charity of the Month for August 2010.
Staff at the leading fundraising website JustGiving.com voted for the ACLT following a nomination by Gillian, from their friendly and resourceful Helpdesk team.
Thank you to Gillian who has supported the charity since we started. She commented in her blog ‘The ACLT is a charity close to my heart as it was set up by the parents of a friend I went to school with, Daniel De-Gale.'
Beverley De-Gale, co-founder of the ACLT said ‘The ACLT is honoured to be recognised by JustGiving for our fundraising efforts to support our life saving work recruiting donors. Cancer will affect all of us at various stages of our lives and if we can encourage you to register as potential bone marrow donors and to become blood donors at one of our drives simply through education and awareness exercises, which ultimately instigate debate or positive reactions, our job is done.'

The most original Fundraiser's name goes to Raph ‘Minus One Kidney' who ran in this year's Virgin London Marathon with Alison Moseley in April 2010. Together they raised over £800 for their tremendous efforts.
In June 2010, Dr Binta Sultan, Specialist Registrar in Public Health, took her fundraising one huge step further by climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, Tanzania in memory of her beloved mother Vimala. To date, Binta has helped raise a whopping £1305, 30% more than her £1000 target.
