The administrator will arrange for your charitable donation to be deducted from your gross pay and donated directly to the ACLT.

The taxman pays the other £1.10 on your behalf

*Basic rate taxpayers

 Give as You Earn Scheme:

If your organisation runs this payroll-giving scheme to help you support your nominated charity, please contact CAF by phone on 01732 520 111 or online. Alternatively make a ‘one-off’ donation or click the PDF link at the top to download our donation form, then fill it in and post it to:

•    Your employer may be registered with another a payroll giving agency such as CAF. If so, please enroll to make a payment and CAF send the donations directly to the ACLT.
•    If not, why not ask your employer to register. In the meantime you can give a regular or one-off donation as above.

Don't forget to ask your colleagues to make a donation too

Charities Aid Foundation (CAF)

Donations to the ACLT are administered by the Charities Aid Foundation, (CAF Registered Charity Number 268369), Kings Hill, West Malling, Kent, ME19 4TA. Contact the ACLT, by emailing: info@aclt.org or calling 020 8240 4480 to find out more.

4.    Gift Aid  – remember to add value to your donation

Gift Aid is one of the simplest and most tax efficient ways of giving to charities like the ACLT. The Government allows charities to claim back tax on donations made by UK taxpayers. This tax relief is called ‘Gift Aid’. Gift Aid is great because it means charities get extra money added to their donations at no extra cost to the donor.

For every £1 donated the charity receives £1.28 when you add Gift Aid.

How do I add Gift Aid to your donation?

It doesn’t cost anything to set up and you are not tied to any agreement at all. You will always see information about Gift Aid when you fill in a:

•    one-off donation form
•    regular donation by direct debit, standing order or payroll giving order or
•    or make a donation online to us via CAF or other fundraising website such as virginmoneygiving.com or JustGiving.com

Please read the information box to see if you are eligible for Gift Aid, and if you are, simply tick the Gift Aid box next to your donation details (some restrictions do apply).

Charities can only reclaim the basic rate of tax as Gift Aid. If you’re a higher rate tax payer, you can reclaim an extra 20% of your donation (the difference between basic and higher rate tax) when you submit your tax return to HMRC. Simply keep a record of the donation and attach these to your tax return if HMRC ask for supporting evidence.

Due to interest rate cuts in 2010, from 5 April 2011 Gift Aid will go down to £1.25 for every £1 donation.
If you have any questions about Gift Aid please visit the HMRC website, Direct.gov.uk.

5.    Buy £2 tickets for a chance to Win a Car

Enter ‘The Great Big Small Charity Car Draw’ for your chance to Win a BMW Mini First

6.    Fundraise as you search & shop online

easyfundraising and easysearch are both completely FREE to use and if you select ACLT as the cause you wish to support when you register, you'll help raise much needed funds for our lifesaving work.

When you shop online with over 2000 well known retailers at easyfundraising, up to 15% of the price of items purchased will be donated to your nominated charity for free!

You can also raise funds every time you search with easysearch instead of other search engine such as Google. easysearch is powered by Yahoo!, Bing, Ask.com amongst others. Just imagine how much could be raised - 10 searches a day could raise around £20 a year, and 100 supporters could raise £2K!

7.    eBay for Charity

You can raise funds for the ACLT while you buy and sell items on eBay. It’s so easy to do:

Buy on eBay

Search for items marked with the eBay for Charity ribbon marked for the ACLT.
10% to 100% of what you pay is donated to charity.

Sell on eBay

ACLT supporters can list items for sale via eBay for Charity, whether it's a fashionista clearing space in her wardrobe, a business selling the latest phones, sell one-offs or just like our avid ACLT supporter babykane72 you can sell items and make a regular donation to support a good cause.

COMING SOON *Mobile Phone Recycling Schemes*

Recycling schemes provide a great way to reduce your environmental impact and help raise much needed funds for the ACLT. More information will be provided here soon.

Corporate donations (Gift Aid)

We welcome donations from business and companies. Why not Gift Aid it? Gift Aid is a very simple and effective way for businesses to support the ACLT. To give through Gift Aid, a company simply gives the money to the ACLT. The company does not deduct any tax from the donation and does not need to make a Gift Aid declaration to the charity. Tax relief is given by deducting the amount of the donation from profits prior to calculating corporation tax. For further details about the effect of a donation on corporation tax liability, please contact your company’s tax office. Unlike Gift Aid donations from individuals, when a business gives through Gift Aid, the charity is not entitled to reclaim any tax against the value of that donation.

Please make cheques payable to the ACLT and send them to us at our address: ACLT, Southbridge House, Southbridge Place, Croydon CR0 4HA.

Gifts in Kind

Your company can help the charity to keep costs down by donating products for fundraising events or office equipment. Your company can also get tax relief for these donations.

Corporate Sponsorship payments

Businesses that sponsor an ACLT activity may be eligible for tax relief. There are a number of factors to determine whether a payment qualifies for tax relief e.g. a payment made to get publicity for your name or product that represents a reasonable rate of return for the amount paid, will usually qualify.

Cause-Related Marketing

Cause-related marketing is when a company, with a product or service, builds a relationship with a charity for their mutual benefit. Its advantages have been proven: 81% of consumers agree that they are more likely to buy a product that is associated with a cause they care about, price and quality being equal. 86% of consumers have a more positive image of a company they see doing something to make the world a better place.
