Payroll giving is one of the simplest, most convenient ways to support the ACLT. If you a UK taxpayer, paid through PAYE, your company is almost certainly eligible to offer Payroll Giving (they may refer to the scheme using a specific brand name, such as Give As You Earn). Speak to your employer to clarify whether they offer a Payroll Giving scheme and whether they have registered with a payroll giving agency, like the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF). If so, please make sure you are enrolled and your employer will be able to arrange for your payroll administrator to deduct charitable donations from your gross pay.
Don't forget to ask your colleagues to do the same.
Members of staff can make a regular monthly donation or as a one off gift, which is deducted straight from their gross salary pay tax-free. For example if you decide to pledge £5.00 to the ACLT each month, and you pay the basic tax rate, your donation will only cost you £3.90 because the taxman pays the other £1.10. All you need to do is choose how much you want to give and to then tell your payroll department. They will then contact the payroll giving agency like the Charities Aid Foundation who will do the rest by administering the donations to the ACLT.
The donations to the ACLT are administered by the Charities Aid Foundation, (CAF Registered Charity Number 268369), Kings Hill, West Malling, Kent, ME19 4TA. Contact the ACLT, by emailing: info@aclt.org or calling 020 8240 4480 to find out more.
