'Scratched Out - The Urban Musical' has been written, produced and performed by a cast and crew who are all under the age of 25 and who have chosen to channel their creative energies into the medium of musical theatre. This is a vibrant, dynamic and engaging production which will provoke thought, turn heads and ultimately shine a positive light on what can be achieved by young people in the face of adversity.
The Gala Night will feature a performance of the musical, followed by live entertainment, a secret auction, raffle, drinks and canapes. Entertainment on the night will be provided by the soulful, jazz inspired Ayanna Witter-Johnson, a star in her own right, who after entering the City Showcase Competition was then hand-picked to play the City Showcase Festival; Daley, a unique singer-songwriter, whose smooth vocals and memorable style sets him apart from the crowd; and the cast's very own Sloozie, who marries honest lyrics with a contemporary urban music style which showcases her multi-faceted gift for performance.
There will be a secret auction on the night which includes a designer dress by Ricky Briggs, custom made to fit the winner, as well as a raffle with some fantastic prizes! Proceeds from the night will be donated to the ACLT whose representatives will be our special guests on the evening. This is truly a night not to be missed!
